Impressions is one of the longest-running dedicated photography galleries in Britain — founded in York in 1972 and relocated to Bradford's Centenary Square in 2007. The programme runs four or five major exhibitions a year, normally focused on contemporary documentary, conceptual and political photography, and the gallery acts as a regional hub for the broader UK photography scene.
The bookshop is small but considered, and the lecture and workshop programme draws international names. Free admission, closed Mondays. Best combined with the National Science and Media Museum across the square.
