A network of cleaned-up Victorian tunnels and cellars beneath Bradford's old textile warehouses, reopened to the public in 2016 as a subterranean street of bars, food units and event spaces. The tunnels were originally cut between the 1870s and 1890s to move wool bales without congesting the surface streets; they were forgotten for most of the 20th century and rediscovered during a regeneration survey in 2010.
The lighting and the sandstone walls give Sunbridge Wells a distinctive late-night atmosphere. Cocktail bars, a craft beer hall, a comedy basement and a coffee shop fill the units. Opens from late afternoon; busiest at weekends. Entrance from Sunbridge Road.
