Trinity Market sits in a long Victorian hall right next to Hull Minster, the city's covered market since the late 19th century. By the 2010s the stalls were declining; the 2017 City of Culture investment paid for a full restoration, and the market reopened with a new food hall mixing traditional traders — butchers, cheese sellers — with independent street-food kitchens.
Today it is the best place in the centre for a casual lunch: Caribbean roti, Vietnamese banh mi, Hull's own patty butties, espresso from local roasters, and a long shared bar with cheap craft beer. The shopping end keeps the older trades alive. Weekday mornings are calm; Fridays and Saturdays are busy and the atmosphere is at its best.
