Peasholm Park is Scarborough's most distinctive town park, laid out with an ornamental lake, island, bridges, wooded paths, and oriental-inspired planting. It has been part of the resort's visitor circuit for more than a century.
The park is a good counterpoint to the beach and harbour. You can walk the lakeside paths, hire a boat in season, or simply use it as a quieter green break from the seafront. Its theatrical naval battle displays are an old-fashioned Scarborough tradition when operating.
