Sheffield is one of the great drinking cities of England, with a particularly strong real-ale scene. Kelham Island holds the highest concentration — the Kelham Island Tavern and the Fat Cat are both former CAMRA National Pubs of the Year — but the West Street strip and the lanes around Devonshire Green are equally lively, especially on student nights. The Leadmill remains the city's most storied music venue.
