Things to Do

Sheffield's industrial heritage has left the city with a strong collection of museums and galleries — Kelham Island, Abbeydale, Weston Park, the Millennium Gallery, the Graves. The outdoor options are just as good: the Peak District begins at the city's western edge, and Sheffield itself is one of the greenest cities in England, with parks and woodland running right to the centre. In the centre, the Winter Garden, Peace Gardens, Cathedral, and Town Hall make for an easy walking tour; head north to Kelham Island for the independent food and brewing scene, or south-west to the Botanical Gardens and the Victorian suburbs.
