Rivelin Valley Nature Trail is Sheffield in miniature: green, damp, steep-sided, and never far from traces of industry. The path follows the river past old millponds, weirs, and woodland, giving you a gentler way to see how the city pressed water power into service before the steel age became its public image.
It is a good choice when you want fresh air without committing to a full Peak District trip. Paths can be muddy after rain, but the route is forgiving and easy to combine with a cafe stop or a longer walk west of the city.
