The Seafood Shack

Operating from a converted horsebox on the waterfront, the Seafood Shack has become one of the most talked-about eating spots in the northwest Highlands. The menu is short and changes with the catch: crab claws, langoustines, smoked salmon, fish tacos, and fish chowder all appear regularly. Almost everything comes from local boats landing at the harbour a short walk away.

The queues at lunchtime are worth joining. Prices are reasonable given the quality, and you eat standing or perched on the harbour wall watching the ferry come and go. It operates from a trailer, so it is seasonal — typically April to October. Check before making the trip specifically to eat here.
