Valley Wetlands RSPB Reserve protects reed-fringed lakes and wetland habitat near Holyhead. It is a good low-key birdwatching stop on Anglesey, with a chance of seeing tufted ducks, pochards, shovelers, gadwalls, and grebes.
The reserve is best folded into a wider day around Holy Island, especially if the weather is too unsettled for the coast paths.
