The most popular beach on the south coast and the easiest to reach from Bridgetown — 20 minutes by ZR minibus. Accra is wide, sandy, and gently shelved, with calm water that is ideal for swimming and children. It has all the infrastructure of a well-used public beach: beach chairs and umbrellas for rent, food stalls, a couple of beach bars, and changing facilities. The car park fills early on weekends and public holidays. Come by bus if you can.
For snorkelling, the reef just offshore holds good fish life, particularly early in the morning before the beach traffic builds.
