San Pedro has a livelier bar scene than you might expect for a town of its size. Waterfront bars fill up at sunset, and the best ones have an unobstructed view west over the lagoon — the light here in the last hour before dark is genuinely spectacular. Belikin, the Belizean lager, is the universal drink and on tap almost everywhere. Rum punches are made with local rum and vary from tooth-achingly sweet to surprisingly good.
The main strip along Barrier Reef Drive has most of the action, but a short walk in either direction turns up quieter spots on the beach or the lagoon side.
