Kamloops Art Gallery

The largest public art gallery between the Lower Mainland and Calgary

The Kamloops Art Gallery is the largest public art gallery in the BC interior, occupying a purpose-built space on Victoria Street in the centre of downtown. The collection focuses on contemporary Canadian art with a strong emphasis on Indigenous artists from across the province; rotating exhibitions typically run two or three at a time and change every couple of months.

The gallery is free on Thursday evenings, runs an active programme of talks and workshops, and includes a good gift shop with prints, ceramics and books. It is small enough to see in forty-five minutes but worth slowing down for if the current exhibitions catch your interest.
