Peterson Creek Nature Park is a surprisingly wild green corridor just above downtown Kamloops, where trails follow a dry ravine through sagebrush, grassland, and ponderosa pine. It gives a quick taste of the Thompson Valley landscape without requiring a drive to the larger parks around town.
The park is good for a morning walk, a trail run, or sunset views when the hills turn gold. Paths can be dusty and exposed in summer, so bring water and avoid the hottest part of the day. For visitors, it is one of the simplest ways to understand Kamloops as a city built into dry interior terrain.
