Most of central Kamloops is walkable, and the riverfront — where the North and South Thompson meet just east of downtown — is the city's most pleasant spot. Downtown sights cluster along Victoria Street and Seymour Street; the BC Wildlife Park, the Secwépemc Museum, and the Sun Peaks ski mountain need a car. The dry sagebrush hills around the city are excellent for hiking and mountain biking nearly year-round.
