Port Burwell Beach

The town beach at Port Burwell runs along the east side of Otter Creek mouth. It's a narrow strip of sand compared to the provincial park beach, but it's right in the village — walk out of any restaurant and you're almost on the sand. Lake Erie water temperatures here can reach 24°C in late July and August, which surprises visitors used to colder Great Lakes beaches.

The beach has lifeguards in summer and a small change facility. It gets busy on summer weekends when families drive up from London and Tillsonburg. Early morning and evening are quieter. The sunsets over the lake from here are worth staying for.
