Eating in Potrero means choosing between family-run sodas serving honest Tico cooking — rice, beans, grilled fish, fresh ceviche — and a handful of expat-oriented restaurants strung along the beach road. Neither extreme is expensive by North American or European standards, and the quality at the better spots is genuinely good. For a wider choice, Playa Flamingo is five minutes by car and has more restaurants.
