Ruins Bar and Restaurant

Open-air bar in the ruins of a colonial townhouse

Address Cork Street, Roseau

Ruins is exactly what its name suggests — a roofless courtyard inside the surviving stone walls of a nineteenth-century townhouse on Cork Street, planted with palms and string-lit at night. By day it serves lunch (rotis, stewed fish, local juices); by night it is one of the most atmospheric drinking spots in town, with a small kitchen menu of bar food.

The combination of the open sky overhead, the candlelit tables, and the surrounding old walls makes Ruins a notably good spot for a slow rum on a humid evening. Live music on Fridays.
