Teatro Presidente is one of San Salvador's main modern performing-arts venues, opened in 1971 and still used for concerts, theatre, dance, and cultural events. It is not as architecturally historic as the National Theatre downtown, but it has its own role in the city's arts calendar and sits near the museum-heavy Zona Rosa.
The reason to go is a performance rather than a building-only visit. Check the Ministry of Culture and local listings for current programming, then combine the evening with nearby galleries, restaurants, or the Museo de Arte de El Salvador. Daytime visitors may find the theatre quiet unless an event or exhibition is running.
