Roatán's beaches are the postcard product — white sand, calm reef-protected water, palms. The famous ones are West Bay and Tabyana at the southwest tip; Half Moon Bay in West End is smaller but convenient. Quieter sand can be found at East Harbour, Camp Bay, and along the north coast east of Sandy Bay. Reef-shoes are useful most places — most beaches drop quickly into coral.
