By air. Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB), near Coxen Hole, takes direct flights from Houston, Miami, Atlanta, Newark, Toronto, and a rotating list of seasonal routes. Domestic flights from Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, and La Ceiba run several times daily on Avianca and CM Airlines. The airport is 15 minutes from West End by taxi (around $25).
By ferry. The Galaxy Wave runs daily between La Ceiba on the mainland and Roatán's Dixon Cove port — twice in each direction, around 90 minutes each way. The boat is large, modern, and air-conditioned; rough crossings can still be uncomfortable. From La Ceiba you can drive on overland from Tegucigalpa or fly into Goloson Airport (LCE).
Cruise ships dock at Mahogany Bay (built for cruise traffic, near Coxen Hole) or the older Town Pier; cruise passengers usually have less than ten hours on the island and head to West Bay, Gumbalimba, or Maya Key.
