Gumbalimba Park

Wildlife park near West Bay with free-roaming monkeys, macaws, and a private beach

A privately run nature park on a hillside above West Bay, marketed heavily to the cruise-day-tripper trade but worth a couple of hours regardless. The walk through the animal sanctuary lets you sit with capuchin monkeys (they climb on your shoulders), feed scarlet macaws by hand, and see a few less-charismatic locals — agoutis, iguanas, and the like.

Beyond the animals there is a small pirate-themed museum (entertainingly random), a zip-line course over the canopy, a snorkelling lagoon, and a private beach with loungers. Half-day combo tickets are good value if you want to do more than one element; expect crowds when cruise ships are in port.
