Iguana Wildlife Park

Sanctuary near French Harbour with thousands of free-roaming green iguanas

Run by Sherman Arch — known locally as the "iguana man" — this is a fenced piece of land near French Harbour with somewhere between 2,000 and 4,000 green iguanas living free-range, fed twice a day by visitors. The display is uncurated and the experience can feel low-rent compared with the slicker Gumbalimba, but the scale of the iguana population is genuinely startling: trees bowing under the weight of green tails.

There is a small turtle and tarpon area as well. Cheap admission, an hour or so on site. Best combined with a French Harbour seafood lunch.
