The Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe anchors the historic Plaza de Armas at the centre of the old city. The current structure dates primarily from the late nineteenth century, though a church has stood on this site since Spanish colonial times. Its yellow façade and twin bell towers are the most recognizable silhouette in downtown Juárez.
Inside, the nave is calm and high-ceilinged, with stained glass illuminating the transepts. Devotion here is real and constant — this is a working parish, not a tourist church. The plaza outside is the social heart of the old town, ringed by portales where locals sit in the evenings. Worth visiting at dusk when the light hits the façade and the street vendors set up around the perimeter.
