When to Go

The dry, cooler months from November to April are the best — daytime temperatures around 28°C, low humidity, calm seas, and the sailfish running. This is also high season; Christmas and Easter are the busiest weeks and prices peak. February is usually the driest and the most pleasant.

The summer wet season, June to October, brings heat (35°C and humid), heavy afternoon downpours, and occasional Pacific hurricanes — Manzanillo has been hit several times. The advantage of summer is cheaper rooms and the big surf at Olas Altas. Avoid September if possible; it is the peak of the rains.
