Licorería Limantour opened in 2011 and quickly became Mexico City's most internationally recognised cocktail bar. The drinks list runs heavily to Mexican spirits — mezcal, tequila, sotol — with a few signatures that recur every year (the Margarita al Pastor, mezcal with pineapple and coriander, is the one to ask for).
The downstairs front room takes walk-ins; the upstairs is reservation-only and quieter. Limantour has a sister bar, Hanky Panky, in nearby Juárez, which is run as a speakeasy. Both have made several iterations of the World's 50 Best Bars list. Opens 6 pm.
