The best shopping in Mexico City is at its markets. The Mercado de la Ciudadela near the centre is the place for Mexican folk art and crafts from across the country — silver from Taxco, talavera from Puebla, textiles from Oaxaca and Chiapas — under a single roof and with prices that respond to a polite haggle. Saturday's Bazar Sábado in San Ángel is the main weekly art and crafts market. For high-end designer shopping, Polanco's Avenida Presidente Masaryk is the Mexican equivalent of Bond Street.
