Eating Out

Mexico City has one of the most exciting restaurant scenes in the world, and it works at every price point. At the top end, Pujol and Quintonil in Polanco regularly appear on global best-of lists, both reinventing Mexican ingredients in long tasting menus that need to be booked weeks ahead. At the other end, the city is built on street food: tacos al pastor carved off a vertical spit, tamales steamed in banana leaves, quesadillas filled with squash blossoms or huitlacoche. Don't miss a torta from a market stall, an order of suadero tacos in Roma, or a proper sit-down comida corrida lunch in the centre.
