The Church of San Pedro Martir de Verona pairs an 18th-century Dominican mission church with a much newer church next door. The contrast is the reason to stop: one building anchors the old village history of Tlalpan, while the newer church has a striking tent-like modern form.
It is best visited as part of a Tlalpan walk rather than as a cross-city trip by itself. The old church is the stronger historical draw, and the two buildings together show how the neighbourhood grew around an older religious core.
