Palacio de Iturbide

Palacio de Iturbide is an 18th-century palace on Madero Street in the Centro Historico. It was once home to noble families and later became the residence of Agustin de Iturbide, the first emperor of independent Mexico.

Today the building hosts cultural exhibitions, and the facade alone is worth pausing for on the walk between the Zocalo and the Palacio de Bellas Artes. Step inside when exhibitions are open to see the courtyard and interior details.
