The Parroquia y Convento de San Agustin de las Cuevas is a 17th-century church and former convent in Tlalpan, the old village south of central Mexico City. Its courtyard and quiet grounds are the main pleasure, especially after the traffic and scale of the wider city.
The complex helps explain Tlalpan's older name, San Agustin de las Cuevas, and makes a good anchor for a slow walk through the historic centre of the district.
