Cancun International Airport is the arrival point for most visitors — about 65 km north, roughly 45 minutes to an hour by road. ADO buses run directly from the airport to Playa del Carmen's bus terminal, departing approximately every 30 minutes for around US$7–10. Shared colectivo vans to Playa cost around US$10–15 per person but require waiting for enough passengers to fill the vehicle. Private taxis from the airport are convenient but significantly more expensive (around US$60–70). Highway 307 is the main road connecting the airport, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum.
