Piedmont Theatre has been showing films since 1917, making it Oakland's oldest cinema still in operation. The building was restored in 2010 and now mixes first-run films with art-house and independent screenings, especially on Saturdays. It is a good low-key evening choice if you are staying around Piedmont Avenue or north Oakland.
