SAP Center

The SAP Center, locally known as the Shark Tank, is San Jose's main arena — home to the NHL's San Jose Sharks and the venue for most major concerts that come through Silicon Valley. The 17,000-seat building sits at the western edge of downtown, beside Diridon Station, and is easy to reach by Caltrain or VTA light rail.

A Sharks game is one of the better entertainment options in the city during the October-to-April hockey season; tickets are usually available and the atmosphere is loud. Outside of game and concert nights the arena is closed, but the surrounding district has bars and restaurants that fill up before events.
