The most famous Cuban restaurant in the United States, and a political and cultural institution in Miami. Versailles has been the gathering place of the Cuban exile community since 1971 — election nights, political protests, and family celebrations all happen here. The menu is enormous and unapologetically traditional: ropa vieja, vaca frita, lechón asado, plantains every which way. Order a cafecito from the ventanita window on the side of the building. Portions are large, prices are reasonable, and the mirrored dining room buzzes at all hours.
