The strip of green between Water Street and the river where the working waterfront has always been. Shrimp boats and oyster skiffs still tie up here, and on most mornings you can watch them unload the catch. A small wharf-side pavilion hosts the Saturday morning farmers' market in season.
The park is the venue for the Florida Seafood Festival, held the first weekend of November since 1963 — two days of oyster-shucking and net-throwing contests, gumbo cook-offs, and parades. Even outside the festival, the riverfront makes the best place in town for a sunset walk.
