Incline Village sits on the northeast shore of Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada side. It is one of the more upscale communities on the lake — no chain restaurants, no strip malls, just pine forest, mountain views, and easy access to the water.
In winter, Diamond Peak ski resort is right above town, offering a smaller and less crowded alternative to the bigger resorts on the California side. In summer, the beaches here — particularly Sand Harbor, just south of town in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park — are among the best on the lake, with clear turquoise water and granite boulders. The Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor amphitheatre runs through July and August. The Flume Trail above town is one of the best mountain-bike routes in the Sierra Nevada.
