White Park

White Park is Concord's signature urban green, a 30-acre park designed in the 1880s on land donated by Armenia White and her husband Nathaniel. The layout, broadly Olmsted-influenced, includes a small pond, a 19th-century stone bridge, a bandstand, ball fields, tennis courts and an outdoor skating rink that fills with children in winter. The mature trees and curving paths give the park a Victorian seriousness uncommon for a city this size.

It is the obvious place to walk if you are staying downtown — a short stroll west of Main Street — and a good local pulse-check. Summer concerts run from the bandstand on Wednesday evenings.
