The J. Thompson Baker House at 3008 Atlantic Avenue is the most interesting older building in central Wildwood, an 1893 Queen Anne style cottage that now serves as the Wildwood Civic Club. Baker was one of the brothers credited with developing Wildwood as a seaside resort and later represented New Jersey in the US Congress.
The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tours are limited to occasional open days organised by the Wildwood Historical Society, but the wide porch and turret are worth a look from the sidewalk on the walk between the boardwalk and Pacific Avenue.
