Santa Fe drinks better than its size suggests — a long-standing arts crowd plus the opera and gallery economies have produced a small but high-quality bar scene. Margaritas are the regional drink: every halfway-serious bar has its own house tequila, and the city even hosts an annual Margarita Trail with passports. Local beer (Santa Fe Brewing) is good; New Mexican wine is steadily improving.
