Thomas-Foreman Historic Home

A handsome 1898 Victorian house on Muskogee's old residential west side, built by Judge John R. Thomas — a US House representative from Illinois who served as the first federal judge in the Indian Territory. The house later belonged to historian Grant Foreman and his wife Carolyn, both of whom wrote landmark books on Native American Oklahoma. The interior is preserved with the Foremans' substantial library and Native American artefact collection. Open Wednesday through Saturday afternoons; small admission charge.
