Muskogee is a relaxed half-day or day-trip destination, best for travellers interested in Native American history or in the early 20th-century brick downtown that has survived almost intact. The Five Civilized Tribes Museum and Honor Heights Park, both on the same west-side ridge, are the two main reasons to come. Add in the docked submarine at War Memorial Park and you have a full day.
