The Hult Center is Eugene's main performing-arts venue, a 1982 building of brick, glass, and a slatted-wood interior, considered acoustically one of the best concert halls on the West Coast. It houses two stages: the 2,448-seat Silva Concert Hall for symphony, opera, and large touring acts, and the smaller 500-seat Soreng Theater for plays and recitals.
The Eugene Symphony, Eugene Opera, and Eugene Ballet are all resident here, and the touring schedule covers everything from Broadway musicals to indie bands. The plaza outside, with several outdoor sculptures, is worth a brief stop in passing even when nothing is on.
