Historic Downtown

Walkable 19th-century commercial district with bookshops and cafes

Grants Pass kept its old downtown — a few square blocks of brick commercial buildings dating from the 1880s onwards — and it has become the city's most pleasant place to spend an afternoon. The independent bookshops, antique stores, and locally owned cafes are concentrated along G Street, 6th Street, and SW H Street.

The downtown also hosts the Saturday Growers' Market between March and November, which spreads across a block-and-a-half of 4th Street near the river. It is one of the best-attended weekend farmers' markets in southern Oregon, with regional produce, bread, cheese, and salmon.
