Riverside Park runs along the south bank of the Rogue immediately east of downtown. It is a long, narrow strip of lawns, ornamental gardens, picnic tables, and a paved path that doubles as a popular jogging route. The park has a small swimming area where the city's children spend summer afternoons.
The Wally Bjorn Memorial Bandshell hosts free concerts on summer Friday evenings. Across the water, a network of dykes and side channels makes for good kayaking on a calm day, and a few rental shops nearby will set you up with a boat by the hour.
