Portland has more breweries per capita than almost any other American city, and brewpubs are a defining feature of the food and drink scene. McMenamins runs a chain of eclectic pubs in converted historic buildings throughout the city (and the state). Laurelwood Brewing has several family-friendly locations. The Crystal Ballroom on W Burnside is a mid-size music venue with dancing. The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall hosts the Oregon Symphony; Keller Auditorium has the Oregon Ballet Theatre and Portland Opera. Coffee culture is equally strong — the city was an early craft-coffee hub and independent cafes are everywhere.
