The Benedum Center is one of Pittsburgh's grand historic theatres, built in 1927 and restored as the anchor of the city's Cultural District. Its stage hosts the Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, touring Broadway shows, concerts, and other large performances.
Even if you are not planning a show, the building is worth noticing while walking downtown for its old movie-palace scale and carefully restored interior. Check the calendar before visiting, since the best reason to go inside is still a performance.
