A six-storey commercial hotel built in 1927, the Alonzo Ward was for decades the social centre of Aberdeen — the place travelling salesmen, governors, and Northern Pacific executives stayed when they passed through. The brick facade with terracotta detailing is a good example of late-1920s commercial design.
The building has been adapted for offices and apartments but the ground-floor lobby is still recognisably hotel-grade, with plaster mouldings and the original tile floor. National Register listed.
