Amarillo's standout attractions lean toward the odd and the outdoorsy. The famous Cadillac Ranch is free and open all day, every day; bring spray paint if you want to add to it. The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in nearby Canyon is one of the best regional history museums in Texas and well worth the short drive.
