The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is a botanical garden focused on native Texas plants and Hill Country landscapes. It is southwest of central Austin, so it takes a deliberate trip, but spring wildflower season can make that trip worthwhile.
The gardens are best for slow walking, plant identification, and seeing how Central Texas ecology changes through the year.
