Women & Their Work is a contemporary arts space focused on work by women artists from Texas and beyond. It presents exhibitions, performances, readings, and workshops, so the experience depends heavily on what is on when you visit.
Austin has plenty of music and food competing for attention, but this gallery is a good stop if you want a current view of the city's art scene rather than another heritage site. Check the programme before crossing town.
